For the annual “We Care” Community Service Day, the Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Woodbury team helped to sort food for 3,000 families who visit the Woodbury Christian Cupboard Food Shelf!
At the Woodbury Christian Cupboard Food Shelf’s off-site location (3M’s Distribution Site), our group sorted, labeled and packed the food donated from the US Post Office Stamp Out Hunger. This is the largest one-day food drive in the nation!
The Woodbury Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (located in the Woodbury Lutheran Church) provides help for those in need in the Woodbury community. There are times in life, such as a job loss or illness, that puts people a situation and they need help. Their goal is to provide food for those families in transitional need. The volunteer coordinator was thrilled to work with our group. She said, “The timing of this project is great. Thanks again for the generous offer of volunteers from the Minnesota School of Cosmetology!”
Campus Director Jill Hocking said, “We are so happy to have been able to help add smiles to many children and their parents that utilize the food shelf!
