Cosmetics Tips: More than Just Makeup

Woman putting on cosmetics

We are ushering in a new and empowering era of beauty. The days of using makeup as a way to mask your natural features are fading. In their place we are welcoming beauty definitions that are far more inclusive and unconventional. This imaginative spirit has woven itself into the creativity of our cosmetics and revived the passion and excitement in the beauty industry as a whole.

These new ideas, along with makeup products and application techniques, are tools we can use to look and feel our very best. Instead of diving into an endless list of shopping suggestions and step-by-step tutorials that may not apply to your unique beauty, let’s go into some tips about what you can do to be confident in your lovely face and excited about your cosmetic artistry no matter what your favorite

Tip #1: Carefully Consider Color Choices

This doesn’t mean that your choices can’t be bold, or even outrageous. It all depends on what you are going for. Colors can be blended, faded, mixed and saturated. So, let’s look at a few ways that makeup color can play an important role in the three most significant areas of facial beauty.

Eye Color

While eyeshadow presents an obvious opportunity for color exploration and experimentation, liners and mascaras are becoming more and more adventurous. Think about subtly coordinating your eyeliner and mascara colors with the color of your eyes. You can also change your everyday look by steering away from solid black and toward other shades like grays and browns.

Lip Color

If your lips are what makes a statement, color gives them a megaphone. Loud colors and bashful tints alike can be positively captivating when applied in the right ways. Go as wild as you want! They’ll hang on your every word.

Skin Color

Blushes and bronzers are the beauty tools we use to give our skin a healthy, vibrant glow. While the color options are far fewer in this cosmetics department, it certainly doesn’t make the color choices any less important. Play around with amount of color you use and the shades of color to find the radiant balance you are looking for.

Tip #2: Don’t Ignore the Details

There can be a lot of flourish and flair hidden in the details of your artistic cosmetic choices. Even in the realm of the ‘work appropriate’ there are plenty of ways to help your look stand out among the rest. No matter what area you are looking to draw attention to, details will help you make a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to look at you. Here are some ways to add a little something extra to your eyes, lips, and skin.

Using dots as details in eyeliner is a remarkably chic and unique way to keep your audience maintaining eye contact. You can also stencil or pattern shadow designs on your lids to add a bit of texture and dimension. Think about using a mascara that has a bit of a glittery effect if you are looking for some lash detail.

Using more than one tone/shade of lipstick to create a fading or transitioning lip color is a detail that will almost certainly stand out. Precise lipliner application can also have a tremendous effect on the look of your stunning smile. Glosses can be a gleaming accent, but they can also be smeary and messy, so choose and wear wisely.

Details make a difference. In the case of your skin, the details that need to be paid attention to are things like moisturization and consistency. Be sure to stay clear of makeup that can cake up. You don’t want to end up hiding your assets. Using cosmetics with a shimmer can also go a long way in drawing gazes to your flawless face.

Tip #3: Try Something New

We can all get into comfortable routines. That includes our makeup application and cosmetics choices. Getting in a rut can drain all the fun out of your beauty rituals. Even your favorite things about your face can seem mundane and boring when you look at yourself in the mirror. Transform that apathy by stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

Color combinations, eyeliner designs, mascaras and lash extensions. The sky is the limit when it comes to expressing yourself with this cosmetic canvas! Be brave. Experiment with your most extreme ideas. Who knows? You might be surprised what you come up with.

You might only see your lips as one shape. However, there are actually different ways you can line and color your lips to give them the appearance of having a different shape or volume. Play around with pouty and clean line looks and see what makes you grin.

There are plenty of product choices in skincare to explore, but there are also plenty of choices to be made when it comes to the application of skin cosmetics. Fool around with finishing powders and mess around with contouring methods until you are mesmerized by your facial fashion.

Tip #4: Last but Not Least: Take Care of Yourself, Beautiful

You are gorgeous. There is no doubt about it. But even more important than your unmistakable beauty is your health. The tools and tricks you use should be chosen with your wellness as your number one priority. Protecting your alluringly accentuated areas from damage is extremely important. This means being cautious about what you use and careful with what you choose. Gentle, natural, environmentally friendly products are always preferable when they are available. This is particularly true when it comes to cleansing products and methods, no matter what area we are talking about. All that self-expression can turn out to be self-destructive if you aren’t careful.

Professional or amateur, these new esteem-boosting attitudes should be the driving force when it comes to the beauty products and services you choose for yourself. Learning new techniques, trying new things and keeping a few trusty tricks and tips will only help you in realizing your ultimately awesome vision of yourself, whatever that is.
