What do you think is required to be a skilled nail technician?

The nail technology program at Minnesota School of Cosmetology is about more than learning how to paint nails. We guide students through a complete study of the arms, hands and nails, including cosmetics used as well as skin and nail disorders. Students learn correct manicuring procedures that will give them the ability to pursue a career as a professional nail technician and help people look and feel their best.

Class Content

Nail technology students at our Minnesota cosmetology school receive basic instruction and pre-clinical training in electricity and light; the sciences of anatomy, dermatology and chemistry; safety and sanitation related to manicuring; and Minnesota statutes which pertain to manicuring practice.

Career Options

Graduates of the Minnesota School of Cosmetology nail technology program have a specific career goal in mind: to be a professional nail technician.

To ensure students are fully prepared for this fun and exciting career, they perform at least 50 manicures during the clinical portion of the program to receive real-world experience before entering the workforce as professional nail technicians.
