Cosmetology Students Participate in Fashion Show Fundraiser for Children’s Hospital

Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Woodbury (MSC) students graciously volunteered as hair stylists and makeup artists for the Open Your Heart fashion show sponsored by the Woodbury Guild Children’s Hospital .

Open Your Heart is a fundraiser held at the Prom Center in Oakdale to benefit Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.The fashion show displayed casual sportswear, professional attire as well as very formal gowns. The stores that contributed clothing were Athleta, Sisu, Chicos, White House Black Market and Raffine Formal & Bridal. Participants of the event also enjoyed dinner, auctions, and games to raise money for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

Jen Marsich, the coordinator of the fashion show, sincerely appreciated the MSC student volunteers for doing the hair and makeup for the models. She said, “Thanks so much for having your students volunteer, our models looked amazing!”

Instructor Amy Stolber enjoyed the event stating, “Volunteering for the fashion show was a valuable experience for our students professionally and it was great for them to give back to the community.”
