On Friday, June 17, 2016, from noon-2 p.m., 10 Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Plymouth staff members volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids as part of Globe Education Network’s annual Community Service Day. We were very excited to participate in this event and had a lot of fun as we packed nutritious meals for people in need.
As a team, MSC-Plymouth staff members were able to pack 25 boxes, each containing 36 food packets. Our volunteer work accomplished:
• 25 Boxes Packed
• 5,400 Meals
• 14 Children Fed For One Year
Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit organization that relies on volunteers to hand-pack meals. The meals are specially formulated for the benefit of malnourished children, and the meals are shipped to over 70 countries. The meals that MSC-Plymouth volunteers packed will be shipped to Ecuador.
“Watching the introduction video and seeing starving children always breaks my heart. But it makes you feel so good knowing that you’re giving back and that you’re helping to feed children in need. It’s great to give back as a team; it’s a great team-building experience,” MSC Instructor Cindy Liston said
