MSC Admissions FAQ

What types of schedules do you offer? What are your hours?
Minnesota School of Cosmetology (MSC) offers day and night programs, and full-time and part-time schedules. Please contact us for specific information on class hours.

Does MSC offer financial aid? We do, and will arrange a private meeting to help you take advantage of all loans, grants and scholarships for which you qualify.

Do you accept transfer credits from another beauty school or college?
We will review your transcripts at no charge. If you have completed beauty training or college classes within the last three years with a grade of C or better from an accredited cosmetology school or college, you may be eligible to transfer credits to MSC.

How long is the cosmetology program?
As a full-time student with nearly perfect attendance you will complete your training in 10 months. If you work full-time or have family commitments you may choose a part-time program. Part-time students typically complete the program in 20 months.

What are the admission requirements?
You will need a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and proof of immunization. You must also score a minimum of 24 out of 32 on the MSC Assessment test or a minimum score of 134 on the Career Profile Assessment test (CPAt).

We have campuses in Plymouth and Woodbury. These convenient locations are close to a variety of stores and restaurants.
